A previously unknown piece of music by Mozart was found.
A previously unknown piece of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, probably written during his teenage years, was accidentally discovered in a library in Leipzig, The Guardian reports.
The work, titled Ganz kleine Nachtmusik, dates from the 1760s and consists of seven miniatures for string trio lasting about 12 minutes.
It was found while updating the Kechel catalog, which collects Mozart’s works in chronological order. The manuscript is a copy made around 1780 and is believed to be the only source for this composition.
The premiere of the piece took place in Salzburg, and on September 21 it will be performed for the first time in Leipzig.
It was previously reported that Wolfgang Mozart’s music has a kind of magic. It has a positive effect on people’s mental health.
