Writer Han Kang received the Nobel Prize for Literature

Han Kang was awarded the Nobel Prize for her poetic prose that reveals the fragility of human life and confronts historical trauma.

On Thursday, October 10, the Nobel Committee announced the winner of the prize for literature. She became the South Korean writer Han Kang.

She received awards for “rich poetic prose that confronts historical trauma and exposes the fragility of human life.” Han Kang is known for her profound writings that touch on important social and psychological themes.

Born in Gwangju in 1970, she began her literary career by publishing poetry, and rose to international fame with her novel The Vegetarian, which won the Man Booker International Prize.

Han teaches creative writing in Seoul and continues to actively work on new works, despite the migraines that accompany her creative journey.

It was previously reported that the Nobel Committee announced the laureates of the physics prize.
